The Moabites were close kin to the Hebrews (people of color). Ruth was converted and went to Bethlehem. She married a man by the name of Boaz. Their son was named Obed. Obed is the father of Jesse and Jesse is the father of David. It can be read this way. King David’s father was Jesse, his grandfather was Obed, his great grandfather was Boaz and great grandmother was Ruth, a woman of color. The Bible is not a book of astronomy, however we can use the science of astronomy to show the magnificence of Almighty God.

Moses under the inspiration of God stated the greater light (the sun) is to rule the day. If you look at the sun, it is approximately 865,400 miles in diameter. The lesser light which is the moon is approximately 2,160 miles in diameter. That equals to 863,240 mile difference in diameter. Moses is right on target. After review of the answers there were a few answers that I could not recall off of the top of my head, though I know where to find them.
It's something how many things one may have learned can easily dull in one's recall. This is a good exercise to build up those lazy neurons that we often allow to fall asleep.
